New type ‘very-long-life’ coolant made on the basis of monoethylene glycol and glycerine using Lobrid technology supported by organic corrosion inhibitors interacting with Si-OAT (Silicated Organic Additive Technology) additives. This enables a long-term efficient protection of the engine parts made of aluminium and other metal alloys against corrosion, cavitation, overheating or freezing, and prevents accumulation of lime residue. The main objective was to produce a coolant liquid requiring no replacement for at least 5 years. Until now, conventional coolants were used to serve no more than two years, or until the car reached a mileage of about 100,000 km. A liquid with a longer service life can reduce the fluid replacement intervals by as much as three times, thereby protecting the environment from pollution, improving engine cooling, and reducing fuel consumption.
DAC has developed a coolant with a boiling temperature of that can go as high as 120 °C, and a lifetime of 5 years or 200,000 km. The coolant was named DAC OAT Longlife. OAT (Organic Additive Technology) is an advanced technology that allows the engine to cool at a very high temperature, and protect it from corrosion. This is a Longlife class fluid. The coolant also features an exceptionally low crystallization temperature of -40 ºC.
After developing DAC OAT Longlife, we not only received orders from Lithuania, but also from foreign automotive manufacturers, therefore, we needed a large quantity of clean water completely free of sodium or potassium salts.
